Samudra Manthan　乳海攪拌

To those of you who came to my Gemstone &

Vastu Workshop yesterday, thank you so much. 

昨日、ジェムストーン＆ヴァストゥ　ワークショップ

に来て下さったみなさま　本当にありがとうございました

In addition to Saturn, Rahu and Ketu were the topic of the day. 

so at one point, I talked about one my of favorite Bhagawata Prana

stories, Samudra Manthan. . 

土星の他に、ラーフとケートゥもテーマだったので

聖典プラーナの一話、乳海攪拌についてもお話しました。

Devas and Ashras jointly churned the ocean of milk to 

obtain amrita. Before that Hala hala (poison) came to surface.

Devas sought Lord Shiva's help. Lord Shiva drank the poison 

and this is why His throat turned blue. 

その後、デーヴァとアシュラは、不老不死のアムリタを得るため

ミルクの海を攪拌し続けました。するとハラハラと呼ばれる毒が

わき上がり、慌てたアシュラは、シヴァ神んに助けを求めます。

シヴァ神は、毒を飲むと、喉が青くなります。。

Then, Goddess of Furtune, Maha Lakshmi appears and all kinds of 

brilliant treasures appear from the ocean. 

やがて幸運と繁栄の女神ラクシューが現れ、海から輝かしい

宝が次々と出てきます。

This is how Lord Shiva got a half moon on his hair. 

 シヴァ神は、こうして髪に飾る三日月を得ます。

A wish-fulfilling tree Parijit , gifted to Deva Loka,

  is one of the precious, one-of-a kind treasures

やがてインドラローカに贈られた望みが叶う木

パリジットもこのときミルクの海からでた宝の一つです。

A crystal tree I found in Akasaka Mitsuke last year

 reminded me of the Parijit tree. It's breathtakingly beautiful.

去年赤坂見附で見つけたクリスタルの木、

パリジットの木を思い出しました。息をのむほど綺麗ですね。
