Chaturmaas Begins

Chaturmaas begins on 23rd of July

this year.

Chaturmaas simply means 4 months

and it is the beginning of super

auspicious time when Lord Vishnu goes to sleep.

今年のチャトルマースは、7月23日より

始まります。チャトルマースとは、

4か月という意味ですが、ヴィシュヌ神が

眠りにつく聖なる期間を指します。

It is during the months of Shravana, Bhadrapad, 

Ashiwini and Krittika and is said to be the holiest 

time of the year for devotees. 

シュラヴァナ、バドラパダ、アシュウィニ、クリティカ

の4か月がその期間にあたり、帰依者にとって

1年で最も神聖なときです。

During this period, it is not advised to hold 

auspicious ceremonies such as wedding or 

inauguration dates. Instead, we should observe 

religious studies, meditation, prayer and fasting... 

この期間は、世俗的な意味で吉兆な結婚式や

祝賀会を開くのには向いておらず、

聖典を読んだり、瞑想、祈りや断食を

することが勧められます。

As the picture above suggests, 

All-mighty, Lord Vishnu may not be closing His Eyes

entirely although He is in deep sleep,

so we still need to be careful what we say 

or think; Lord Vishnu is LISTENING!!! 

上の画像にあるとおり、深い眠りについている

とはいえ、全知全能のヴィシュヌ神は

目を閉じているわけではありません。

われわれの言動や想念をしっかり聞いて

いることでしょうか、気を付けましょう。

The first of the 4 months is Shravanamas 

and it has a significant meaning for Shiva Bhakta

and I am going to write about it in the next article. 

最初の1か月、シュラヴァナマースは

特にシヴァ神の帰依者にとって

深い意味を持ちます。
